The Property Brothers Face Off in LA in New Season of 'Brother vs. Brother'

Drew and Jonathan Scott take their perennial sibling showdown to the City of Angels in season 7 of HGTV's hit series Brother vs. Brother. This time it's (even more) personal!

The Scott Brothers go Hollywood.

The Scott Brothers go Hollywood.

Where the Stars Come Out

Tinseltown. City of dreams. Province of stars. An expanse of glittering lights that stretches out below towering palms, the Hollywood Sign, Laurel Canyon and Chateau Marmont. Muse to F. Scott Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, Joan Didion, The Doors, Charles Bukowski and Raymond Chandler. Home of Musso and Frank, the Sunset Strip, The Troubadour and Whisky A Go-Go. Backdrop for indelible characters — Philip Marlowe, Norma Desmond, Jake Gittes, Lebowski's 'The Dude.' To paraphrase Randy Newman, “We love LA!”

In that spirit, HGTV is thrilled to announce that the city of Los Angeles will host the latest competitive showdown between the Brothers Scott — Drew and Jonathan, to be precise.

In the newest chapter in HGTV's Brother vs. Brother that familiar and continuing saga of sibling rivalry taken to extremes the two Mr. Scotts will once again attempt to outdo one another in an epic contest of innovative and original renovation and design. The first episode in season 7 of the fan-favorite series is set to make its premiere on HGTV on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 9 p.m. ET/PT — with a new episode premiering weekly in that same Wednesday time slot.

Home Turf, Home Advantage?

The Scott twins — famous for their home renovation and real estate expertise — will engage in an all-out property and renovation battle in LA's historic Hancock Park. That classic neighborhood just happens to be where brother Drew Scott and his bride Linda make their home, in a custom-renovated historic house of their own.

For this year’s Bro-vs-Bro smackdown, two vintage but aesthetically challenged mansions will serve as the battleground for the six-week competition to determine which renovated home will earn the highest net profit and which brother will emerge victorious.

As always, there's no shortage of confidence and bravado on either side of the contest. “We’re taking our sibling rivalry to the neighborhood where I built my honeymoon house,” says Drew. “I have the home field advantage and plan to settle this once and for all with a hometown win.”

“This competition started at birth," counters Jonathan, "and I won because I came out first, I can’t wait to celebrate my latest win right in Drew’s backyard.”

Guest Judges Galore, Winner's Spoils and Loser's Consequences

Throughout the season, HGTV stars Breegan Jane (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), Maureen McCormick (A Very Brady Renovation and Frozen in Time), Jasmine Roth (Help! I Wrecked My House), Orlando Soria (Build Me Up), and Dan Vickery (Frozen in Time) will decide which Brother wins each weekly match.

The loser in the weekly challenge will face a host of humiliations, including being the subject of an embarrassing blooper reel on Entertainment Tonight and being sent on a hunt to procure dthe winner’s favorite treats and souvenirs at Disneyland. The challenge winner will get such special rewards as a starring role in a superhero photo shoot, a heart-pounding stuntman experience or an Ice Age mammals dig at the famed LaBrea Tar Pits.

A Good Cause

All proceeds from the Brother vs. Brother home sales will go to Turn Up! Fight Hunger who is working with No Kid Hungry to solve childhood hunger. The profits from Brother vs. Brother will result in up to 100,000 meals donated.
