How to Make Fish Soap Party Favors
Nothing says good, clean fun like these clever little handmade soap favors!

Materials Needed
12 plastic goldfish
(12) 5" x 8" 4 mil plastic bags (this thickness is necessary for safety)
microwavable bowl
large glass bowl
ice
water
scissors
ribbon
wood skewer
rubbing alcohol in spray bottle
crystal (clear) soap base
Prep Bowl and Bag
Fill large bowl with ice water and set aside (Image 1), then cut off the tops of the plastic bags (Image 2).

Melt Soap Base
Cut the soap base into blocks, then smaller 1" pieces (Image 1). Place several pieces into a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 45 seconds. Remove and stir with skewer. If soap is not fully melted, continue heating at 10 second intervals until it's in a liquid state (Image 2). Tip: Make the first few favors one at a time until you get the hang of it.

Place several pieces into a microwave safe bowl and heat for 45 seconds. Remove and stir with skewer, if soap is not fully melted, continue heating at 10 second intervals until it is in a liquid state. Make the first few favors one at a time until you get the hang of it.

Pour Into Bag
Have another adult hold the bag wide open, while you pour the melted soap directly into the center of the bag. Try not to drip any on the inside walls. Safety Note: The 4 mil thickness will hold up well to hot liquids.

Add Fish
Allow your child to carefully drop the plastic fish into the melted soap head first, using the wooden skewer to maneuver the toy into an upright position.

Remove Bubbles and Cool
Spray the inside of the bag with alcohol to remove any bubbles (Image 1). Place the bag into a large bowl of ice water to speed the cooling process (Image 2).

Finishing Touches
Let each bag cool for at least 30 minutes to allow soap to harden, then remove from ice water. Tie off the top of the plastic bag with a piece of ribbon (Image 1). If giving these away as a party favor, disply them near the door so guests will be sure to grab one (Image 2).
