Materials + Supplies for Glitter Jars

  • hot water
  • glass jar
  • skewer
  • extra-fine glitter
  • glitter glue
  • super glue

Add Water to Your Jar

Start by rinsing out a glass jar with hot tap water — don't skip this step, as it will help prevent the glass from cracking or shattering in the next step. Then add hot water to the glass jar, leaving a few inches empty at the top. Caution: Use hot — not boiling — water, or it could shatter the glass jar. It's important to pre-rinse the jar so that the glass heats up evenly when adding the hot water.

Add Glitter Glue

Squeeze an entire bottle of glitter glue into the jar (Image 1). Stir together with a skewer (Image 2). This could take a few minutes to fully combine, so be patient while stirring.

Mix in the Glitter

Add approximately 4 tablespoons of extra-fine glitter into the jar (Image 1 + 2). Stir to combine (Image 3).

Glue on the Lid

Wipe excess glitter from the outside of the jar (Image 1). Apply super glue to the outside of the rim and tightly screw on the lid (Image 2). Let dry and cool down completely before handling the jar (Image 3).
