5 Easy DIY Halloween Headbands
Looking for the perfect headgear for Halloween? Craft one of these easy-to-make headbands — googly monster eyes, spiderweb, deely bobber antenna, a giant spider or a crown. Kids and adults will love crafting and wearing these fun and festive Halloween headbands.
Are you feeling the Halloween spirit, but not feeling an entire complicated costume? These quick and easy Halloween headbands are just what you need to join in on the fun without going overboard. With only a few inexpensive materials you can create fun and creatively creepy looks. These projects are also easy enough for kids and would make a super fun craft station at a Halloween party or trunk-or-treat.
1. Colorful Googly Monster Eyes

- pipe cleaners
- pom-poms
- all-purpose craft glue
- googly eyes
To make this monsterful-masterpiece, simply wrap a few green pipe cleaners around a headband, leaving 2" to 3" of both ends unwrapped and sticking up. Glue an assortment of 1/2" and 1" colorful pom-poms to the green pipe cleaners, including to the tips of the protruding ones. Glue plastic googly eyes to each pom-pom, and you have the cutest monster we've ever seen. Kids will especially love making and wearing these bright, colorful headbands.

2. Spiderweb Crown

Tools and Materials:
- headband
- pipe cleaners
- all-purpose craft glue
If you have some white pipe cleaners lying around, you are already halfway to this spooky and fun headband. Attach seven white pipe cleaners to a headband by wrapping the ends snuggly around the band. The pipe cleaners should stick off of the band vertically. The longest one in the middle should be about 6" long, and each one to the sides progressively shorter. Twist the very end of an eighth pipe cleaner to the tip-top of the middle pipe cleaner. To create the appearance of a web, bend a slight arch and twist the tip of the pipe cleaner to the right. Continue until you reach the last vertical branch. Repeat, moving again from the center pipe cleaner, but in the opposite direction. Repeat this whole sequence two more times, starting lower on the center pipe cleaner, making three rows of webbing. Finish by attaching a faux spider (or make one yourself with a pom-pom and black pipe cleaners) to the web with craft glue. Looking for some Halloween eye-rolls? 3. Eyeball Deely Bobbers

These festive bobbers are sure to get a giggle and are so simple to make. Wrap a green pipe cleaner around a 2" foam ball or a ping-pong ball. Secure with a bit of hot glue. Glue a large googly eye to each ball. Wrap the end of the pipe cleaners to a headband and all eyes will be on you.
4. Zip-Tie Crown

If spooky costumes aren't your thing, this royally easy headband might be for you. Working from the center top of a headband, tightly attach multiple sizes of zip ties in a pattern that fans out to both sides. Make sure to orient the zip ties all in the same direction to create a clean appearance. If you cinch the ties tightly enough, you don’t need to glue. Trim the zip ties to any length you choose. We trimmed ours longer on the top and shorter on the sides for a crown-like look. Spray paint the ties gold. Finish by adding some sparkle to the spikes by gluing on gold sequins, gems or beads. This crown will have everyone talking about what a creative queen or king you are.
5. Fuzzy Spider

- black pipe cleaners
- 4" fur pom-pom
- hot glue gun
This is possibly the cutest creepy-crawly we've ever seen. To make the spider, you will need 16 black pipe cleaners for the spider’s legs. Twist two pipe cleaners together for each leg. Twist the end of each leg to a headband slightly to the left or right of center. Attach four in one direction and four in the opposite direction. Bend each leg in the middle and about an inch from the bottom to form the leg joints. Glue a 4" fur pom-pom to the center of the legs. This arachnid is adorable on kids and surprisingly chic on adults.
