Tools + Materials

  • (2) 1x12s
  • (2) saw horses (optional)
  • measuring tape
  • drill + bits
  • hole saw bits
  • sanding block
  • (2) 6"-x-9" boards
  • 4"-6" board
  • 1" wood screws
  • 12" hinge
  • paint + roller
  • painter's tape
  • vinyl number stickers

Optional

  • wire basket
  • bottle opener
  • metal trash receptacle

Create Handle

To start, place your 1x12s on two sawhorses. Mark the center at the top of each board about 2-1/4 inches from the edge. Then mark 1/2 inch from the center on both sides. Next mark 1-1/2 inches from the center on both sides. With a 1-1/2-inch hole saw, drill into each mark to create your handle. Repeat on your second board and sand smooth.

Make Cup Holder

Next, you'll craft your drink holder. You'll need two 6x9-inch boards and one 4x6-inch board. Mark the center of each 6x9-inch board, and draw a straight line down the center, parallel with the 6-inch side. For one of those boards, you'll also mark the center of each half. This is where you'll drill your cup holders using a 3-inch hole saw.

On the drawn center line on each piece, partially drill three 1-inch screws. Finish drilling both boards on opposite sides of the 4x6-inch board into the 6-inch side. Sand and set aside for later.

Attach Cup Holder

Paint your 1x12s and cup holder in the color of your choice. Then, mark where the cup holder will go and attach to a board with wood screws. At this point, you can also attach a hinge to the top inside of each 1x12 board.

Create Scoreboard

Mark the side that does not have the cup holder at 2-1/2 inches in and 8 inches from the top on both sides. Next, mark every 1-1/2 inches down in a straight line until you've made 21 marks on each side. Partially drill each mark.

Add Accessories

On the same side with the cup holder, attach a wire basket to hold your cornhole bags when not in use. We also added a bottle opener and small metal container to catch lids.

Get Sporty

Using thin painter's tape (ours was 1 inch), tape off just inside the partially-drilled holes. Using your favorite team's colors, add a sporty stripe. Once dry, add number stickers in order from 1 to 21, and you're ready to play!
