Prep Apples

Wash, dry and remove stems from apples. Organic apples are recommended because they do not have a coating of food-grade wax on the peels.

Add Pop Sticks

Push pointed end of pop sticks into the tops of apples at the stem hole, keeping the stick as upright as possible. Be sure to push into the apple deep enough to ensure it stays on the stick but doesn't pierce through the other side.

Dip 'Em

Break up the squares of almond bark and place them in a deep, microwave-safe bowl. Heat at 30-second intervals until candy is melted and smooth, stirring frequently. Carefully remove the hot bowl from the microwave and dip each apple into the melted candy bark. Gently shake off any excess coating over the bowl.

Let Cool

Place each apple (stick pointing up) on a parchment-covered surface or baking sheet. Let the candy bark coating cool completely before packaging.

Gift Wrap

Place each apple in a clear cello treat bag and seal at the base of the stick with a twist tie. Cut leaf shapes out of kraft paper gift tags and tie onto the apples with twine or ribbon tied in a bow. Finish by inserting a sprig of faux gilded greenery into the knot for a touch of sparkle.

Display

Arrange finished treats on a coffee bar, side table or the drawer of a vintage dresser, like we did here, and encourage guests to treat themselves.
