10 of David Bromstad's Most Notable Tattoos
The designer is seriously inked. Learn the meaning behind some of his biggest and brightest pieces.
David Bromstad’s name is pretty much synonymous with stellar style and gorgeous home design. Of course, one scroll through his Instagram proves that it’s also synonymous with tattoos. The My Lottery Dream Home host is renowned not only for his dazzling personality on the show, but the shirtless selfies littering his social feed as well. The more you look through the 47-year-old host’s posts, the more you’ll realize he doesn’t only have a few tattoos, he has a bunch. We did the work of rounding up 10 of David’s most notable tatts for you.
Limited Edition
David likes to embrace his individuality. What better way to do so than getting a tattoo to cement the sentiment?
1973
His birth year, of course! David was born on Aug. 17, 1973 in Cokato, Minnesota.
Dabbing Unicorn
A few years back dabbing was the most popular dance move around. David decided to create a permanent memento of it with a baby rainbow unicorn performing the move.
Family
In celebration of Pride 2020, David got an intricate rainbow “Family” tattoo to celebrate his LGBTQ community, which he considers his family.
Vintage ‘80s Poppin’ Good Sticker Tattoo
During the same visit, he also got an inked version of one of his favorite scratch-and-sniff stickers from the ‘80s. “The ‘poppin good’ scratch and sniff sticker brings me back to my childhood and my families [sic] love for popcorn,” he captioned the post debuting the tattoo.
Monarch Butterfly
While not as many photos of David’s back exist on the internet, this angled shot shows off a monarch butterfly atop his shoulder.
Mickey Mouse
Before David made it to HGTV, he worked at Disney. Growing up, he’d loved the brand and wanted to be a Disney animator. After high school, he went to Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, before landing his dream job. All this is to say, it’s no wonder he has so much Disney ink. While this snap makes it look like a single Mickey, he actually has a full Mickey sleeve (and even a Minnie, too!).
Cinderella Castle
Remember: David loves Disney. And, let’s be real, we love this magical thigh tatt.
Rainbow Love
There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to this rainbow love ink. “It symbolizes so much for me. The gay flag, my love for color, my first tv series, color splash, freedom and it’s just plain happy,” David exclaimed on Instagram.
Lion
Born in the middle of August, David is a Leo. And so, he got a lion—complete with a line-drawn crown—inked onto his shin.
