Tarek's the Greatest? No Flipping Way.

Flip or Flop’s Christina Haack (Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country) and Tarek El Moussa (who stars with his new wife Heather Rae El Moussa on The Flipping El Moussas) built a family and flipping empire together. After splitting up, they launched new personal and professional partnerships, remarried and settled into co-parenting. However, the score is unsettled when it comes to their real estate egos: Tarek’s the self-proclaimed “greatest flipper in the world,” and Christina begs to differ. Clearly, a flipping competition was in order. Partnered with their spouses, Christina and Tarek agreed to each find, purchase and flip a southern California home. Six room-to-room battles present opportunities to win budget boosts of $2,000 per win. At the end of the competition, the team with the highest overall return on investment reigns supreme — and takes a first-class family vacation on the loser’s dime.

Christina's House, Before

Christina and her husband, Josh Hall, settled on a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Carson that had seen better days. With cracked floors, problematic plumbing, electrical issues and floor-to-ceiling piles of squatters’ junk, the property had languished on the market with an asking price of $605,000. Christina initially estimated that renovations would cost at least $300,000, and hoped to attract buyers at an eventual price point of $1.1 to $1.2 million.

The Kitchen, Before

Josh and his dad were invaluable in the first days of the renovation, when every room of the house needed junk removal that would have cost thousands of dollars. Four dumpsters later, the house was clear — and damage throughout both the property and Christina and Josh’s relationship was impossible to ignore. They separated, and Christina decided to continue in the competition on her own.
