HGTV Stars Share Behind-the-Scenes Details from Season 4 of ‘Rock the Block’
Wonder what each week’s Rock the Block episode leaves on the cutting room floor? We did a little digging to uncover what you need to know.
These HGTV stars are doing things the Rocky Mountain way and sharing their adventures on social media while the season airs. Teammates Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island), Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle (Luxe for Less), Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin (Farmhouse Fixer), and Page Turner and Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip) were given $250,000 to renovate four identical properties on a cul-de-sac in luxe Berthoud, Colorado. This season throws tradition out the window by providing competitors a front-row seat to each week’s challenges.
With a season focused on transparency, it’s only fitting that the stars themselves would drop some behind-the-scenes details on social media — and they did not disappoint. Here’s what we found.
Ty Is the Host With the Most
While he might not be putting his hands to work in this show, Ty’s funny bone doesn’t take time off. He couldn’t help but bust a groove when Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones) and Jennifer Todryk (No Demo Reno) dropped by to judge week two’s living room renos.
Kristina and Jonathan Keep Their Enemies Close
After taking the week one win with their kitchen design, Jon and Kristina treated their competitors to a little fuel in the form of coffee and doughnuts. They wanted to pull some info out of their fellow designers, but smack talk seemed to be what was on the menu. Will the farmhouse fixers continue this Winner’s Breakfast after snagging week four’s honor? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Michel and Anthony Take to the Sky
As the team who knows how to do a lot with a little, Michel and Anthony have to find ways to add value and that includes taking inspiration from every moment. Week one’s hot-air balloon ride taught them how to soar above the competition, resulting in a week three win for their main suite design.
Page and Mitch Thrive in the Mountain Air
Week two winners Page and Mitch let the environment lead the way in their home design, but that doesn’t mean the outdoors has the same appreciation for them. Page needed help acclimating to the altitude and EMS happily came to her aid — as well as competitors Sarah and Bryan, who brought her single oxygen bottles so she could keep working.
Bryan and Sarah Are Happy at Home
While Bryan and Sarah always appear merry in each other’s company, how are they feeling without any wins? The queen of team Aspen Chalet shared on her Instagram stories that she wouldn’t want to switch homes with any other team on the show.
“We worked with the builder to understand what homes would be built in the future and, therefore, what windows would soon be looking out onto another home,” Sarah said. “Bryan and I wanted to know that the decisions we made now were the best choice for the future homeowner.”
With the season halfway over, there’s still more to discover about these designers and their unique homes. Tune in for more Rock the Block episodes Monday nights at 9|8c.
