HGTV Stars Share Behind-the-Scenes Details from Season 5 of 'Rock the Block'
The latest season may be set in paradise, but the fan-favorite competition is set to be full of new challenges we've never seen before.
Season 5 of Rock the Block is gearing up to be one of the best competitions yet, according to the behind-the-scenes content shared by this season’s competitors. Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block); Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Houses); Page Turner and Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip); and Sarah and Bryan Baeumler (Renovation Island) took to Instagram to show us exactly what went down while filming the competition.

Ty Pennington's Back
Host of the Rock the Block Seasons 2, 3 and 4, Ty Pennington has returned to test the stars' skills and limits for Season 5. And this time, in a location much more familiar for the Battle on the Beach mentor.
Page Soaked Up the Sun
Fix My Flip host Page Turner didn’t let a day go to waste while living in this season’s sunny location of Treasure Island, Florida. The pristine waters and soft sands became the backdrop for most of her Insta photos, and she enjoyed lots of time sharing the sunshine with her 83-year-old mom and daughter. Page gave us a peek into their walks on the beach, water sports and beach lounging time.
Lyndsay and Leslie Enjoyed Hanging with Their HGTV Besties
The Unsellable Houses sisters said spending time with co-stars Keith and Evan made all the hard work worth it. The playful group took tons of selfies and made cameos in each others’ Instagram stories regularly — though it wasn’t all fun and games. Leslie shared the first injury of the season to her story: a cut on Evan’s hand that required stitches. Ouch!
Sarah and Bryan Were at Home on the Coast
A hot, coastal locale was no new thing for the Renovation Island duo, but that doesn’t mean the competition didn’t come without its challenges. “This is us. Smiling, laughing, bright eyed and bushy tailed — right before 6 weeks of physically and mentally punishing, exhausting and almost breaking ourselves on the block … all in the name of REDEMPTION!!” Bryan wrote on Instagram. “Season 5 of #RockTheBlock took things to the next level and way beyond … the talent and grit [of] this group is mind blowing!”
Keith and Evan Juggled a Lot
While the Detroit natives were designing for redemption (they also competed in Season 3), their own show, Bargain Block, was airing on HGTV — which made being away from their partner-in-crime and real estate expert, Shea Hicks-Whitfield, extra hard. To give the guys a little extra love, their supportive Rock the Block co-stars joined together to give them kudos and a round of applause during a day of filming.
The Beach Setting Couldn’t Be Beat
All of the stars loved hanging on the beach whenever possible. Sunset pics, fun on boats and peaceful videos of waves were aplenty. And their families got in on the activities, too. Page’s partner in crime, Mitch, spent time in the sand throwing a football with his son.
