What is Battle on the Mountain?

Battle on the Mountain, like Battle on the Beach, is a home renovation competition between three teams of up-and-coming flippers mentored by some of HGTV’s best and brightest. Where Battle on the Beach takes place at the beach, Battle on the Mountain takes place — you guessed it — in the mountains. For the show’s debut season, teams will tackle mountainside house flips 13,000 feet above sea level in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Over the course of the six-week season, the teams will embark on six makeover challenges — each of which focuses on one specific section of their homes. These spaces include the kitchen and dining area, main bedroom and bath, living room, guest suite, bonus guest room and the exterior.

Teams will also be tasked with weekly custom-build challenges, as well as team-building field trips. At the end of each challenge, guest HGTV judges will tour each of the spaces to determine the winner of the week, who will receive the subsequent $3,000 cash prize. At the end of the entire competition, judges will analyze the renovations in full, while real estate experts will value each of the updated homes. Whichever team increases their home’s value the most will take home a $50,000 grand prize.

With a $100,000 budget, each team has to determine which renovations will lend to the biggest payoff in their mountainside homes.

Who Are the Celebrity Mentors on Battle on the Mountain?

Home experts Rico León (Rico to the Rescue), Kim Myles (Design Star: Next Gen) and Kim Wolfe (Why The Heck Did I Buy This House?) are the mentors on Battle on the Mountain Season 1. They will use their expertise to guide their teams. However, just like in Battle of the Beach, these design stars won’t be getting super hands-on in the process. They're job is to encourage and assist their designers in the decision-making processes.

Who Are the HGTV Judges on Battle on the Mountain?

Each week, new HGTV stars will come on the show to evaluate the renovations and determine the top contender for each challenge. Chelsea and Cole DeBoer (Down Home Fab) are set to judge the premiere episode — the kitchen and dining room makeover. Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson (Married to Real Estate); Jasmine Roth (Help! I Wrecked My House) and Page Turner (Fix My Flip); and Battle on the Beach mentors Taniya Nayak, Ty Pennington and Alison Victoria will step in later in the season.
