Eclectic

Essentially, eclectic interiors are spaces that combine a variety of styles — traditional, global, modern, the sky’s the limit — mix together all the looks you like best. To rock an eclectic look in this living room, designer Sarah Stacey filled the sunny space with mismatched chairs, a vintage chest and a colorful Moroccan rug as eye-catching artwork. Mismatched modern lamps and a glass-and-chrome coffee table round out the anything-goes look. Each piece is unique but everything works together seamlessly.

Relaxed Modern

If "modern" and "cozy" design got together and had a baby (congrats!) you'd have relaxed modern. Modern spaces can sometimes feel cold and formal, but relaxed modern is warmer and much more accessible. This living room space uses a mix of modern and eclectic pieces to create a more casual, mod vibe. The clean lines of the white sofa, the vintage chair and classic marble table make the space feel much cozier than a typical, classically modern space.

California Cool

Where does that young, hip, up-and-coming Hollywood celeb you have a crush on (but would never admit it) live? Probably in a rad house in the Hollywood Hills, dripping with a California cool vibe. Natural elements, a variety of textures and a cooler color palette are all common in a California-cool style space. The natural wood coffee table, bamboo shades and jute rug in this living room are all inspired by nature. They are accompanied by boho pillows and fab, abstract art above the fireplace. Everything works together to create a space that feels well designed, but also super casual.

Traditional Remixed

Traditional design will never go out of style but that doesn't mean it won't make you want to hit the snooze alarm. While the details and architecture of this Boston home are all very traditional, the owners chose furniture, colors and decor that are anything but. Teal barrel chairs flank the classic fireplace while a trio of metallic gold tables are grouped together in the center of the room. The lavender wall color, and the unique abstract art adds some wonderful bold, pops of color to the space. This room is a masterclass in how you can take all the traditional elements of design, put them all in a blender and end up with something truly fresh and unexpected: traditional remixed.
